The vintage season 2008 / 2009 (1st October 2008 – 30th September 2009) has been excellent and predictably will supply us with great quality cavas.
Rainfall: The autumn of 2008 was rainy (259 liters/m2), as well as the spring of 2009, which recorded a rainfall of 295 liters/m2. In both cases the rain fell very slowly and because of this it resulted to be very useful. However, the autumn of 2009 recorded a low and torrential rain which was difficult to harness.
Temperature: The summer has been dry and hot but cool nights have enabled to keep a healthy vegetation and an excellent ripening process. The autumn has recorded high temperatures that favored a complet ripening leaves. We have also enjoyed of wonderful landscapes with changing colors that have increased nutritional vine reserve. The autumn has ended with important frosts that have reached -5ºC.
It has not been an easy year but we face 2010 with ilusion and renovated strength. Come and discover what we call Penedès perennial beauty, enjoy our cavas and landscapes as well as all our cultural wealth.
